The Slough Half Marathon is set to makes its return to the borough on Sunday 14 October following an 18 year hiatus.
Back with a brand new course, covering most parts of the town’s road system, the race starts and finishes at the picturesque Salt Hill Park.
The race course is ideal for both recreational runners – perhaps entering a timed race for the first time, or competitive runners looking to achieve a personal best.
Entries to the Slough Half Marathon are now open.
Runners who book their place ahead of Tuesday 1 May can take advantage of the event’s early bird registration fee of £25. Participants who register for the half marathon after this date will be charged the full price of £30.
All race finishers will receive a medal and goodie bag and trophies will be presented to the top three male and female finishers, plus age group winners.
Runners can book their place at Slough’s newest sporting event online at: www.slough.gov.uk/halfmarathon.
Participants can receive regular updates, training tips and support through the event’s dedicated Facebook page www.facebook.com/sloughhalfmarathon or via the council’s Twitter feed using the hashtag #sloughhalf.
People who want to be part of the Slough Half Marathon but don’t want to run have the unique opportunity to join the dedicated team of volunteers who help make the event happen. They can register their interest by filling out a volunteer application form on the Slough Borough Council website.
We will be holding a mass participation 5km fun run on the same day, also starting and finishing at Salt Hill Park. It’s perfect for children, families and groups and ideal for people at the start of their health and fitness journey. Walk, jog, or run – it’s all about taking part and having fun. Further details of this event will be released in the spring.
